Cyber Quarter, Abertay University

The space is within the existing Student Union Building built in 2008, located in Bell Street, Dundee. The ambition, in the longer term, is to utilise the whole building for the Cyber Security Centre. The Student Union Building is a high-profile building located at the heart of the Abertay Campus. The Cyber Quarter project aims to take advantage of that profile to promote its presence and activities and to encourage public interest in the facility. The project is part of a longer-term masterplan strategy by the University to form a more focused campus centred around a public space. The ground floor café is a publicly accessible facility to support that aim.

Following the original development of proposals in 2019 to allow an application to be made to the Scottish Government as part of the Tay Cities Deal the project was re-appraised in early 2021. Accommodation is provided for staff/academics, students, industry partners and is required with differing levels of security/privacy. All accommodation included in the Cyber Security will lie within a secure perimeter. Space on the second floor is set aside for use by the NSS/SOC
