West Regent Street, Glasgow

55 West Regent Street is a Category B Listed building in the heart of Glasgow City Centre that has been vacant for circa 25 years and is listed on the Buildings at Risk Register for Scotland. No. 55 is located within the city block made up of 51-57 West Regent Street Glasgow, former headquarters of distillers and brewers McLachan & Co of Castle Brewery as part of the corner development titled Castle Chambers, commissioned, and built between 1898 and 1902.

Wellwood Leslie Architects have been successful in securing planning permission and listed building consent for the refurbishment, conversion, and vertical extension of the upper floors of the buildings to form modern serviced 1-bedroom apartments and studios. The accommodation is intended for the rental market and provides a communal resident’s lounge on the 7th floor which benefits from panoramic views over Glasgow city centre.
