Orchard Village

Designs produced for a student accommodation scheme on the outskirts of Stirling city centre for Scape Homes. The site is situated beneath Stirling castle and in close vicinity to river Forth and old Stirling Bridge. The site commands excellent views towards the National Wallace monument and the Ochil Hills and is about 15 min bike ride away from the University.

The proposed design is a modern interpretation of the existing urban fabric in the Bruce Street conservation area. Detailed analysis of the existing buildings informs the massing, materials and detailing of the proposed scheme which is embedded with vernacular reference as a result. 

The accommodation would provide a mix of cluster bedrooms and individual studio flats. The scheme has been designed with the local Raploch Masterplan in mind and includes public permeability through the site and public realm around the site.
