Sector: Life Sciences
Wellwood Leslie have extensive experience in the Life Sciences sector developed through our close working relationships with key clients in the academic and commercial markets across Scotland and beyond.
Wellwood Leslie can bring to our clients the skills and experience gained in the design and construction of highly serviced specialist research and manufacturing laboratories for a range of clients in both research and commercial manufacturing markets.
As the wider group and in conjunction with our experienced subconsultants we continue to seek new opportunities to apply our knowledge on behalf of new clients operating within this key sector of the Scottish economy.
Sector Leaders:
Led by senior partner, Neil Simpson, Wellwood Leslie have worked with the University of Dundee over the last 15 years across their Life Sciences estate on both new build and refurbishment projects. The experience gained in the specialist design of these facilities allowed us to transfer our expertise to the commercial life sciences market which has spun out of the University into the local economy. Projects have been undertaken with the key life science organisations active in the Tayside market including Axis Shield, BBI, Cyclacel and Eurofins.
In addition we have taken our skills into the medical sciences sector where we have worked with Karl Storz Endoscopy Ltd. to expand and refurbish their original manufacturing and distribution facility at the Ninewells campus.
Beyond Dundee, projects have been undertaken at the city centre campuses of the Glasgow Universities and at Garscube where completed buildings include facilities for veterinary science. Chris Berridge adds experience to our team having started his architectural career working with CAHID, the Centre of Anatomy and Human Identification, refurbishing their existing premises to provide a new anatomical teaching environment. Proficient in the strategic design and delivery of complex facilities for both the public and private sectors, Chris has continued to specialise in the industry from Wellwood Leslie’s Glasgow office. Initially working with Rouken Bio (formerly Antibody Analytics) on the relocation of their operations to a new building and continuing to deliver a programme of phased refurbishment and expansion projects to support the growth and diversification of the company.
