Dundee Academy of Sport

Wellwood Leslie were successfully in securing the commission to design the Dundee academy of Sport for the University of Abertay in a competitive interview process. The project will be the built embodiment of the Dundee Academy of Sport initiative which has been underway for a three-year period as a joint venture between the University of Abertay and Dundee College. The initiative is intended to increase engagement in sport and activity amongst schoolchildren across Dundee. The new building will provide sports, research and education facilities for students currently studying at both institutions and will provide enhanced sports facilities for community groups and school groups currently using a disparate range of facilities across the city. The project is currently being considered by the Scottish Funding Council with a view to being progressed during 2017.
