Rossie on the Earn

Rossie Byre is located at the heart of a 250 acre family farm with stunning views over the coarse of Earn in the Perthshire countryside. The proposed facility converts a series of former farm buildings (including cattle shed, byre and hay barn) into an enchanting blank canvas for anyone wishing to add their own style to a wedding or formal event.

Completed in 2021, Rossie Byre retains many of the traditional features including original stone walls, troughs and raised walkways through a series of flexible spaces consisting of four connected rooms with capacity for up to for 160 seated guests. Accommodation includes an arrivals hall, ceremony space, dance hall with associated bar, formal reception room, temporary kitchen space, and toilet facilities.

The project brought several challenges for the team including; upgrading a lightweight roof structure to create a suitably tempered acoustic environment whilst minimising noise creep to the adjacent rural area, consolidating dilapidated buildings, and dealing with the presence of asbestos.
