The Rookery, Carnoustie

The project was part of the redevelopment of the Links clubhouse undertaken by Wellwood Leslie in the run up to The Open Championship in 2018. The design proposals include a 100 seater restaurant, 16 person private dining area, 50 person informal bar on the upper floor commanding views over the course and a small takeaway café on the ground floor.

Additional support accommodation included a large kitchen (incl. hot pass, josper grill), dry goods prep area, cold stores (incl. walk-in freezer), wash area, bar store and wine cellar.

The design required careful consideration to meet the aspirations of the client for a high-end facility to match the profile of the other facilities on offer.
