Old College Classrooms, University of Abertay
Wellwood Leslie were approached by Abertay University in 2018 to carry out initial feasibility studies for classroom refurbishments across the main University campus.
Feasibility investigations included proposals to create an enclosed atrium within an existing external courtyard, to form a new internal circulation space to serve the Old College building complex. Design proposals included production of an exemplar set of classroom types with full specification for fittings, finished and furnishings. Classroom types included a general teaching laboratory with associated equipment and services.
Following successful completion of the feasibility study, the University have taken the classroom refurbishments forward in two phases. Wellwood Leslie took the lead consultant role to bring phase one to completion in 2019.
Additional Architectural services were provided where builders works were deemed necessary in order to complete refurbishment works over the 2019 summer break.
